We believe that you should be rewarded for the effort of converting your home from electricity to natural gas. Our “Gas Bucks” program allows for a credit on the actual usage of your natural gas. If you bring the actual receipt that shows you have purchased your new furnace and fill out a “Gas Bucks” application, we will offer you up to approximately $1000 credit on your actual gas usage. This program also applies to gas logs, fireplace inserts, A/C’s and other appliances. Now that pays!

Weatherizing Your Home Tips & Guide

We now offer you a guide and checklist that you can use to weatherize your home saving 25% in your yearly heating and cooling costs. This guide is available in our lobby during our business hours so you can walk in and pick it up. If you would like one mailed, just call the office and we will gladly do so. This guide has very helpful and inexpensive ways to weatherize your home and encourage you to do it yourself, further saving you money.

1 CCF = 100 CF = 1 Therm1 Therm = 100,000 BTU’s = 100 CF = 0.1 MCF
10 Therms = 1 MCF

1 Quad = 109 MCF = 1010 Therms = 1015 BTU’s

Direct Use: A Better Way to Use Energy

Energy Tips

Set your thermostat as low as is comfortable in the winter and as high as comfortable in the summer.

Clean or replace filters on furnaces once a month or as needed.

Bleed trapped warm-air registers, baseboard heaters, and radiators as needed; make sure they’re not blocked by furniture, carpeting or drapes.

Bleed trapped air from hot-water radiators once or twice a season; If in doubt about how to perform this task, call a professional.

Turn off kitchen, bath, and other exhaust fans within 20 minutes after you are done cooking or bathing; when replacing exhaust fans, consider installing high-efficiency, low-noise models.

During the heating season, keep the draperies and shades on your south facing windows open during the day to allow the sunlight to enter your home and closed at night to reduce the chill you may feel from the cold windows.

During the cooling season, keep the window coverings closed during the day to prevent solar gain.
